My second philodendron piece. This work was inspired by my earlier ‘Pink Princess’, but this time I wanted to experiment with a dry brushing technique, drawing the viewer’s eye to the plant’s patterns and textures rather than its colour.
This particular plant was a housewarming gift to myself, a way of bringing life into our new space here on the west coast. If you’re anything like me, filling a space with living things is a great way of returning to the present moment. There’s something deeply grounding about caring for something and watching it grow and thrive.
For me, this piece speaks to growth and new beginnings, I wonder what it might represent for you?
